My First Burrowing Owl Sighting!

We went to Cesar Chavez Park at the Berkeley Marina over the weekend because I wanted to look for a burrowing owl… it was my lucky day because I met Marty from chavezpark.org, who was there educating people about the burrowing owls! He had his camera set up and pointed right at it… I may not have found it otherwise. Now I know what to look for, and where to look!

When we arrived there were the usual suspects, although it was nice to see some greater scaup (I usually see lesser), and we had some up close and personal time with a great blue heron who landed a few feet away from me and just stood there… incredible!
