Acalanes Ridge
We went to Acalanes Ridge for the first time while we were out near Walnut Creek over the weekend. It was a pretty short out and back walk along the top of a little ridge with a great view of the sprawl and Mt. Diablo. I didn’t see many birds at all but I’m happy to report that I snapped my first official website-worthy hummingbird! So that was exciting… and I saw a woodpecker, yay! If you look closely, you can even see the hummingbird’s togue!
