Early Morning at the Bay Trail Vista

I left extra early for work so that I could take a little walk, I realized that my favorite Arrowhead Marsh is so close to my office and there are trails along the opposite side that I have yet to explore! So I took a walk around 8:30am, it was super overcast, gray, and cold!

There were several group of sea birds together – a big group of great egret on the land, lots of bufflead and American coot, and it was fun to see a few singles out there – a pied-billed grebe, and a lesser scaup!

If you park in the small parking lot across from Corica, there is a path you can follow around the water. I followed this path all the way around, past the blue bike bridge, and it dumped me out back on the main street. It is NOT a loop! You have to cross the street to stay on the path (I didn’t know this), and walked in the bike lane back to my car. Next time I will just turn around when I get to the bridge and walk back the way I came.

I wonder if the egrest always stay together on this bank because I usually see them spread out around Arrowhead Marsh, but I’ve never seen them clustered together like this.
